When the outlet pressure is set above the original set point using the adjusting screw, the spool will move toward the seat and the volume of the medium will decrease. When the set pressure decreases, the control valve flow area will increase. When the pipeline loses pressure, the valve is fully open. Turning the adjusting screw clockwise will increase the downstream set pressure.
